The challenge of goods availability

In the penultimate presentation of at the 8th Spare Parts Conference ETT 2023 in Linz, Georg Schett from Fraunhofer Austria summarized the challenges of materials planning: “The most important thing is the availability of goods, good forecasts are essential for successful materials planning and the pricing of procurement is extremely complex”. Together with Julius Mehringer from Fraunhofer IIS, he explained how the long-term stocking of spare parts can be optimized with the help of machine learning.

Philipp Lenz: “Almost every part becomes interesting for Reman”.

Spare parts supply has become a challenging undertaking, especially for companies serving a global market, in times of supply chain disruptions. What lessons aftersales managers can learn from the crisis was presented at the 8th Spare Parts Conference (ETT) in Hörsching near Linz. Jens Hähn and Arian Shahrabi participated from ANTARES Life Cycle Solutions as sponsor on this seminar.

PHILIPP LENZ, a member of the Executive Board / BU Lead Reman from Liebherr Group spoke about RELIABLE DELIVERY WITH THE HELP OF REMANUFACTURING.

Since the beginning of the Remanufacturing program in the Group almost 20 years ago, it has been significantly developed and infrastructurally expanded in key markets. Not least in the context of the current crises (energy, inflation, availability/scarcity issues and the disruption of logistics chains), a robust Remanufacturing program has proven to be a guarantee of success. Both the economic and environmental benefits (up to 50% reduction of CO,) as well as the security of supply are important factors that are highly appreciated by customers.

ETT Spare Parts Seminar 2023

“Spare parts supply in uncertain times” was the theme of the spare parts conference ETT organized by FACTORY and Fraunhofer Austria for the 8th time on May 11, 2023. The trade event gathered around 100 spare parts logistics experts and aftersales managers at the premises of construction equipment manufacturer Wacker Neuson in Hörsching near Linz. And kicked off a few discussions on the current situation of supply chains. ANTARES LCS was present as a sponsor at this seminar with it’s booth.

The program began with Wolfgang Voß, Manager, Service Parts Operations EAME/CIS and Managing Director responsible for the Service Parts division of the US agricultural machinery manufacturer John Deere.

The long phase of globalization of the world economy seems to end or is at least temporarily interrupted. The war in Ukraine is the main contributor to this. However, at the same time we are experiencing dislocations in the global supply base and logistics. Added to this is the increasing tendency of countries all over the world to protect their own economies through protectionist legislation, at least in the short term. Voß explores the question of how a globally active company like John Deere can meet these challenges. A strategy that is successful in the long term must encompass the entire value chain, from suppliers and the company’s own business activities to cooperation with retailers.

Spare Parts Conference ETT May 11, 2023 in Linz – AUSTRIA

ETT is the largest annual meeting of After Sales and Spare Parts logistics experts in the DACH (German Speaking Countries / GSA) region and for the first time we are a proud sponsor of this event.
On ETT we discuss with experts how to plan inventories in line with demand and lead times and we learn from peers about their strategies and digital tools they use to master the diversity of parts. And get inspired on topics like remanufacturing, 3D printing and spare parts pricing!
The challenge of keeping lead times as short as possible while at the same time optimizing complexity and working capital is our expertise in ANTARES Life Cycle Solutions. With our services offering engineering, consulting and supply we help our Tier 1 and OEM customers to find the best balance between optimal capital and cost management and service level.
You are all kindly invited to visit us at our booth at the Spare Parts Conference | ETT on May 11, 2023 hosted by Wacker Neuson in Hörsching/Linz in AUSTRIA.

HANNOVER MESSE 2023

We @ ANTARES LCS always have a look at different relevant industrial events to follow the latest innovations, to network and last but not least to introduce our services and solutions. After our participation in FILTECH February 2023 in Cologne we had a visit to HANNOVER MESSE 2023, the world´s biggest industrial show.

HANNOVER MESSE is also the most important international platform and hot spot for industrial transformation – with excellent innovations or unusual products.

Here you can smell and explore the Latest Industry Developments and Trends across many industries and technologies. With the rise of integrated robots in smart factories and new materials and processes revolutionizing traditional manufacturing, the need for more efficient processes is becoming increasingly urgent. The world of integrated industry is constantly evolving, and we need to keep up with the latest trends and developments. HANNOVER MESSE offers a global platform to discuss the Future of Work and tackle challenges like climate change and pandemics.

To achieve a sustainable future, the circular economy must be prioritized. For sure availability of wear and spare parts combined with smart inventory management is key to success with a clear focus on Cost, Stock Levels and Complexity: our specialty at ANTARES Life Cycle Solutions.

Industry heavily relies on the unique properties of metals, and even with the advent of digitalization, they remain irreplaceable. Innovative alloys and manufacturing processes ensure that metallic solutions retain their importance. Visitors can discover the latest advancements in this field at HANNOVER MESSE, where exhibitors showcase their cutting-edge technologies.

Additive Manufacturing, or 3D Printing, has expanded beyond rapid prototyping, and is making its way into series production. HANNOVER MESSE serves as a central point for suppliers of current additive manufacturing systems and users of production systems that do not involve metals. Since 3d Printing is one of our offers to our clients for the production of small quantities, we always keep a close eye to the latest developments in this attractive technology.
Next upcoming events, where we can meet, are ETT (AFTER SALES AND SPARE PARTS-LOGISTIC-EXPERTS IN THE DACH-REGION) May 2023 in Linz-Austria, REMATEC June 2023 in Amsterdam and AGRITECHNICA November 2023 in Hannover.
